Vicki Harvey
Managing Director
is a founding director of EPR. She worked in technical R&D for 5 years before moving to market research. Her 30 years' experience includes consumer, business and social research, both qualitative and quantitative.
Vicki has exceptional experience of research in the water industry and has worked for 7 of the leading water companies in the UK. In addition she has worked extensively in related sectors such as energy, the environment, building, property and heritage. She has a particular interest in sustainability issues across the board, from conservation of older buildings to the prospects for zero carbon homes.
Outside of these sectors, Vicki works across a broad range of research topics and industries including image studies, customer satisfaction, stakeholders, marketing communications, segmentation studies and market mapping.
Marilyn Duffy
Services Director
All analysis and data processing is carried out in-house under the supervision of Marilyn Duffy, Services Director. Marilyn joined EPR in 1990, became an associate director in 1994 and a main board director in 1997. She has some 30 years experience of market research and is familiar with a number of analysis packages.
Marilyn is also responsible for quality control, an area which EPR takes very seriously.
Chris Mathias
Senior Consultant
Chris read Agriculture and has a Postgraduate Diploma in Farm Business Administration from Wye College. After a short period as a farm manager he joined Laurence Gould as a farm management consultant in the south east where he obtained experience of a wide range of farm enterprises. He then returned to the company's HQ to head up the Farm Planning division before moving to the Consultancy Services division which undertook business and marketing studies in the food and cooperative sectors. For the last 15 years of his UK experience he led teams undertaking policy evaluation studies for MAFF and the DoE (now called Defra) and was also a policy advisor to the Rural Land Use Group within the Environment Agency. Ten years ago he joined a sister company and became a Director with responsibility for winning and managing projects in Eastern Europe and the Former Soviet Union. Chris became an independent consultant in 2007 and apart from UK based clients, he also works for the World Bank as a member of their supervision mission for two large scale projects in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Chris also farms in his own right on the Warwickshire/Gloucestershire border.
Mary Stafford
Senior Consultant
Mary read Agricultural Economics as a postgraduate degree at Wye College and joined Laurence Gould in 1976, working on both farm plans and farm development grants before specialising in marketing strategy. She has undertaken feasibility studies for numerous horticultural cooperatives; and a labour sharing cooperative in the UK, drawing on her experience in Germany and the Netherlands. Other assignments have included many successful EU grant applications for UK food processors; market strategy and reputation studies: and market feasibility studies in the UK and Europe on behalf of overseas suppliers. In the last ten years she has undertaken more technical market research which has included developments in phytonutrients, food science and food distribution. Mary has been a freelance consultant for a number of years.
Jeremy Marshall
Senior Consultant
Jeremy has wide-ranging consumer and business-to-business research experience across a broad range of sectors in the UK and internationally, including automotive, healthcare, media, financial services, telecoms and retail.
An online research expert, before joining EPR, Jeremy was Director of Strategic Analysis for Nielsen Online, where he developed innovative new custom and syndicated research services including website mystery shopping. He has been European Director of pharmaceutical market research agency, Medimix International and, for 8 years, was a co-founder and Director of Oakwood, a leader in facilities management and logistics research and a pioneer of online customer satisfaction and employee research.
Ted Chandler
Senior Consultant
Ted is a Chartered Builder with comprehensive experience in construction, the house building industry and new home warranty business. He began his career as an engineer and went on to become the Executive Director responsible for business delivery of the UK's largest building control body in the housing sector and General Manager for NHBC's Inspection and Building Control Services. Managing over 500 surveyors and site-based inspectors, he pioneered the introduction of modern technology into construction risk management and building control services.
Ted is now operating as a consultant within the UK house building and construction sector providing both management and technical consultancy services for construction and associated research.
Sue Law
Senior Consultant
Sue has worked with EPR since its inception. Primarily a qualitative researcher, her experience covers the industrial, medical, social, financial and public sectors. Sue's key areas of expertise include training, the NHS, construction, energy, food & drink, packaging and export markets. Overseas work has included a number of industrial sectors including machinery, packaging, textiles and chemicals.
Sue moderates focus groups and has a successful track record in interviewing at all management levels both face to face and by telephone. She works on a variety of research areas including corporate image, customer satisfaction, strategic decisions, advertising and market testing.
